Tomorrow, Microsoft will release the penultimate update for Windows XP before support for the operating system ends on 8th April.

The update provides several important fixes, including a permanent fix for the vulnerability in Internet Explorer that was discovered weeks ago. It also begins the prompts for users to update their system. Users will be subjected to pop-ups and migration advice to help them upgrade to a less outdated OS. There are still a large number of people still using the 14-year-old Microsoft XP, which will become unsafe once support and virus protection is withdrawn. Hackers will still be able to gain access to computers, and will no longer be stopped by updates.
