Apple had their biggest quarter in their history recording an $18 billion in profit for Q1 of this year. This means Apple hold the world record for the largest profit in the 1st quarter overtaking Russia’s natural gas extractor in the world.

On the flip side, this means that the 4th generation iPad sales dropped 18% and haven’t been shipping well. Sounds like cannibalism as predicted, Apple says that this is just a “speed bump”. With the larger screen, iPhone 6 Plus demand for iPads have dropped. The question remains how will Apple revive iPad sales without cannibalising products such as the Macbook Air Pro and iMac.

The Apple watch was announced to ship worldwide in April having been introduced to the media in September 2014. The company say this fits into their “early 2015” timeline, giving developers more time to meet software deadlines and to optimise platforms for the device. The Apple watch accompanies the iPhone 6 and 6 plus so if sales of these new generation iPhones were a world record who would bet against Apple watch sales. Could the second quarter be as good or even better for Apple, the world awaits the shipment of the newest piece of technology from the Cupertino firm.
