We are a successful international IT company looking to hire an Account Manager who is:

Responsibilities will include:

Financial Management

  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget
  • Monitoring the budget against monthly expenditure
  • Monitoring capital and operational budget expenditure
  • Monitoring and managing irregular, unauthorized or wasteful expenditure
  • Ensure accurate entry of transactions to the accounting system
  • Check that month-end journals are done accurately
  • Ensure the timely execution and accurate completion of general ledgers
  • Reconciling of control accounts
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation and assisting auditors with financial year-end
  • General Filing
  • Preparing and submitting periodic financial reports to management
  • Processing income statements, balance sheets, and other management account reports
  • Create financial forecasts and analyse risk
  • Provide Tax planning strategies in accordance with existing legislation
  • Submit VAT, TAX, and PAYE with assistance of external accountants
  • Perform monthly Profit and Loss analysis ensuring transactions are posted accurately
  • Prepare various financial reports such as monthly income, sales per item and submit to the Head of Finance
  • Provide daily work logs on Zhero Wait

Account Receivable Management 

  • Send monthly debtors’ statements
  • Follow up on outstanding accounts
  • Invoice queries to be dealt with in a timely manner
  • Ensuring payments are allocated as per remittance
  • Confirm the validity of the tax invoices/ credit notes, and ensure that they have been duly approved
  • Perform an age analysis on all accounts on a continual basis throughout the month to manage cash flow successfully
  • Provide reporting weekly on age analysis and outstanding receivables

Risk Management and Internal Audit Processes

  • Make recommendations on improved internal control systems
  • Ensure safeguarding and retention of financial information
  • Assist to facilitate internal audit processes

Policy and Strategy

  • Provide input regarding policy development and implementation
  • Provide input on systems, policies, and procedures within the accounts department

General Office Management

  • Keeping Asset Register up to date and submitting to insurance quarterly
  • Obtain signatures from relevant staff when assets are assigned and save them on the database
  • Maintain a clean office environment by liaising with the cleaning company
  • Stock-take of office supplies and order relevant items
  • Order lunch every Friday
  • Ensure any office requirements are dealt with in an acceptable time frame

General Administration

  • Complete documents as and when requested by management
  • Assist with general administration on properties

Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • A minimum of year of proven Financial Management experience
  • 3-year degree in Financial Management or Accounting
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel advanced
  • Report writing
  • A proven ability to work methodically, pay attention to detail and use initiative in solving problems
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental goals
  • Self-motivated and uses initiative and judgment to attain the best results
  • The ability to work in a fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities, to meet deadlines and targets
  • Ability to provide and analyse financial information for business decisions
  • A flexible and accommodating approach to variations in workload and tasks
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters in a transparent and inclusive fashion
  • Solution-driven-able to react quickly and resolve issues so that the workflow can continue
  • Good relationship builder with strong diplomacy skills
  • Ability to aspire to a culture of service excellence
  • Experience implementing financial controls and compiling financial reports will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Generally Recognised Accounting Principles (GRAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of Risk Management concepts and Financial Management
  • Knowledge of relevant Tax Regulatory Legislation
